The Fremont Street Fair, a classic
Every year on the weekend closest to the Summer Solstice the famous and infamous gather in Fremont for the Street Fair and Parade. The parade is 'alternative', very political and naked ~ naked as in the bicyclists, who are the heart and soul of the whole event. There are other fun things going on as well, but I ran out of memory on my camera so the following are the best photos I managed. It's the joy on the faces that I loved best ~ not just the paraders but those of us watching as well. It's a fine Seattle event, perhaps the best we as a community offer.
The 4-wheelers:A 3-wheeler:And the 2-wheelers:
(and remember, these people are naked;
painted, yes, but (mostly) buck under the paint)

(or not so proper...)

Glad the weather was good for these folks :) Came looking for some spinning posts but, oh well, got a chuckle! I can't stop thinking how colorful the shower water will be for awhile - lotsa water, soap and scrubbing... Terry
I love the Solstice parade. The picture third from the bottom - does anybody else remember (Shannon) The Goddess Kringen from public access channel 29? I'm glad she's still getting her freak on!
The parade seems extra-naked this year. I haven't been for a few years and for a while they were cracking down on the nudity. I forgot the parade was today and was wondering why I saw so many "art cars" driving west on 45th.
I haven't been to the parade in several years. I'm glad to see that the naked paraders haven't succumbed to political correctness!
I love the parade. I got some fun shots myself of both the naughty and the free. It was a great day!
